Our new Temple President and his wife arrived here in Madrid on Monday, November 3rd. We haven’t had a chance to get a picture of them yet. They are great, very excited to be here and serve in the Temple. Sister Moore speaks Spanish and all of the natives are so thrilled, because they have never had a Matron who could. She also worked in the Bountiful Temple before they came. President Moore has not worked in the Temple so it’s a little more challenging for him. He kept the same counselors for now who are both natives. We look forward to getting to know them better as time goes by.
We had our combined family home evening on Monday. The Santos were in charge and they told us a story and then we had a scripture chase. A treat was given to those who were the quickest. We sang Happy Birthday to Tom and the other Sharon (Lunt) who have Birthdays in November. They have asked me to be the birthday chairman and decorate their door on the day of their Birthday and leave a little treat.
We talk quite a bit about the store Carrefour which is a lot like our Walmart back home.
It is located in the Las Rosas Centro Comercial (Mall). 
We went there this week to return the space heater that I already broke! No worries though I got a replacement. It is at this Mall where we go to eat at the Kabob place we love so much.
We also went to a store called Taste of America. You can buy American products and food there but it is quite expensive. We didn’t see anything we were dying to have so we just browsed. At least we know where it is now if we ever want to go again. 
Close to where we got on the Metro was this cool fountain with dolphins and water coming from their mouths.
We got back on the metro and at one of the first stops five Sister Missionaries with four pieces of very heavy luggage got on. It was transfer day and one of the Sisters had finished her Mission and was going home. They always meet at the church that is on the Temple grounds so that was where they were headed. They lucked out because when we got off the metro Tom and Berkley carried the luggage to the church for them. 
They were very appreciative and Tom and Berkley’s back have never been the same since!
We took a few more pictures of the trees on the Temple grounds which have turned beautiful fall colors.
I’m sure it won’t be long before they don’t have any leaves left.
Today we had been asked to talk at the MTC at their sacrament meeting. We had done this once before when we were new here. It is a great experience to be with them. The CES couple (Bob & Susan Sproul) have been called to be the MTC Presidents' counselor and they were the ones who asked us to speak. 
They told us to keep our talk because when we speak again we will have a whole new group! They have fewer Missionaries there now than they have had since we’ve been here. Half of the ones who were there were Russian Missionaries who had come to get their visas renewed. When they sing out on the temple grounds after they are finished we have the opportunity to talk to some of them and find out a little more about them. They stay for 6 weeks here so we are able to get close to some of them.
We are still wondering why we were so fortunate to be sent here on a Temple Mission. We love our calling and know what a wonderful work that is accomplished within its’ walls. We thank Heavenly Father for all of you who are holding the fort down while we are gone. We are spoiled and get to email you, webcam, and even talk on the phone whenever we want - there are definitely perks for the senior Missionaries. We love you all and pray that the Lord’s spirit will abide in your homes and strengthen you daily. Love to all, Mom and Dad
