First off I would like to say how much we miss our buddies the Lunt’s. It’s just not the same to go to eat or shopping without them! On Monday, our day off, we decided to go to Alcala where Cervantes home is, who wrote Don Quixote.
We had been there once before but it was in the winter and we wanted to see it in the summer. Some of the people who work in the Temple live there. 
It was about a half an hour train ride. It was 104 degrees that day so needless to say we melted! 
We still had a good time and we ate Dominos Pizza there.This past week we had mornings again, and the Stake that came was from Seville. They brought lots of people and youth to do Temple work. It has been great to be so busy this summer. Miles served in Seville on his Mission. There were people there who remember him when we showed them his picture. The Anta’s and the Blanco’s recognized him. They had quite a few workers with them and again there was a lot of training that took place.
Veronica Puig from Alicante came the week before last and was planning on leaving a week ago Saturday. She could not find her bus ticket and ended up missing her bus. So she stayed another week. She wanted to cook dinner for us on Wednesday and of course we had no problem with that! She fixed us two great dishes. One was almost like a breakfast dish which had bread eggs and green onions in it.
Their green onions here are very big compared to ours back home. The dough of the bread was a thin square piece of dough that rose up and tasted like croissants. She fixed us a cream soup that had zucchini squash and milk and cheese. Hey two Spanish foods that we actually liked! It was good to talk with her. She has done a lot of Genealogy and has many names for the Temple.On Friday I had the opportunity to work in the Baptistry. I hadn’t done that for a while. It was a great group of kids who were very polite and reverent. It’s always exciting to have so many youth want to come here. Tom was the Coordinator three times this past week, and I was once. The poor men never have enough workers to go around. Next week we finally get to be on the afternoon shift, yea!
Today we had two couples for dinner. They both leave for home on September 5th. The Moreira’s from Portugal, and the Santos’s from Brazil.
The Moreira’s have been here for a month, they just finished an eighteen month mission in Madera. We hardly worked on the same shift but they were very nice people. The Santos’s have been our next door neighbors and we have gotten quite close. Sister Santo’s is a nut she missed her calling in life of being a Mime. She imitates in action and words many of the workers in the Temple. She keeps us in stitches all the time. She and Tom have had a competition going all the time about the number of men in a session and the number of women. Of course she had more to gloat about because almost always there are more women. Brother Santos’s would speak a mixture of Portuguese and Spanish, and very few could understand him! One of his favorite words was tranquillo and that word describes him perfectly. We will really miss them; they have been a lot of fun.Yesterday we watched a little excerpt of the dedication of the Oquirrh Hills Temple dedication over the internet. The Temple looks beautiful. President Monson was putting the mortar in the corner stone. He mentioned that the Lord had blessed them an abundance of sunshine that day. I’m sure we will be able to see more on KBYU this coming week. How very fortunate we are to have so many wonderful Temples in Utah. We have been told so many times that if we faithfully attend the Temple that our families will be blessed. With this opportunity we have had to serve in the Madrid Temple we can testify to the truthfulness of that statement. We love living on the grounds of this beautiful Temple. The spirit is so abundant here. We will never forget this wonderful opportunity we have had to serve here. We love you and appreciate your support and love for us.
